Routing Supervisor - TransportationJob Status: UNTIL FILLED Posting Date: 05/12/2026 Posting Number: 013489 Location: Transportation Position Title: Routing Supervisor - Transportation Wage/Hour Status: Non-Exempt Reports To: Director of TransportationPrimary Purpose:To provide supervision and assist in decision making services to the transportation office to facilitate maximum transportation services from the financial resources availableQualifications: Education/Certification:Clear and valid Texas commercial driver's license with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsementsHigh School Diploma or GEDMust be 18 years of ageSpecial Knowledge/Skills:Reasonable degree of proficiency in typing, computer, and other clerical skills.The ability to supervise employees.Assist in the selection of new employees.Supervise the development of assigned bus routes.Operate a computerized routing system.Experience:5 years of experience in school transportation preferredTraversa, Tyler Tech routing program experience preferredSuch alternatives to the above as the administration may find appropriate and acceptableMajor Responsibilities and Duties:Layout and schedule all district bus routes in accordance with Texas Education Agency guidelines. Ensure all changes or additional bus runs are consistent with district policies, guidelines, and procedures.Post route schedules and state required route descriptions. Ensure each bus carries an accurate description of the morning and afternoon route.Notify drivers, parents, and school personnel of any changes in a student's bus service such as an address change, change in pick-up and drop-off location, change in time or bus number change. Help campuses to place new students on buses and advise drivers of new or dismissed students.Respond to complaints and concerns about transportation services and address issues when appropriate. Redirect calls to transportation director when neededProcesses all transportation correspondence, reports, memos and notices to TEA and local district.Receives and places telephone calls pertaining to transportation.Operates computer/programs for the transportation department.Supervise assigned personnel including bus drivers and crossing guards.Supervises the bus route development according to district policy.Maintains up-to-date computer program/files bus routes.Assists with the hiring process.Coordinates specialized trainings as directed.Assists parents with questions regarding bus routes.Changes and adds new bus stops.Obtains students name and address for state reports by route and bus.Performs such other duties as the superintendent may assign.Supervisory Responsibilities:Designated Transportation staffCustomer Care Skills: Mental Demands/Physical Demands:Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripheralsPosture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twistingMotion: Repetitive hand motions including frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reachingLifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours; frequent districtwide travel; occasional statewide travel and out-of-state travelMental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions, maintain emotional control under stress.Salary: Pay Grade OS08, $27.15-$32.05 hourly rate, commensurate with experience according to District salary schedule.
