We are seeking an experienced and motivated Winder Associate to lead our rewind operations. This position requires leadership, attention to detail, and hands-on involvement in production to ensure efficiency, safety, and product quality. Job Summary: The Winder Associate manages all tasks related to rewind operations, including daily and weekly maintenance, quality assurance, material handling, production documentation, and waste removal. You will lead the team in assigning tasks, optimizing workflow, and maintaining product standards. Key Responsibilities: Analyze work orders to determine production requirements and assign tasks to team members. Review job orders or charts to understand product specifications, tool requirements, and operational parameters. Complete production paperwork, including start/stop times, downtime logs, and raw material information. Operate equipment, including loading rolls, threading materials, and securing rolls in chucks. Start and cycle machines, adjust tool movements, and ensure optimal machine performance. Conduct visual inspections and collaborate with team members to maintain product quality. Set rotation speeds, feed rates, and tool movements based on specifications. Monitor material conformance, make necessary adjustments, and flag defects. Lead station setups, manage workflow, and ensure operational efficiency. Calculate critical production data to optimize operations. Perform regular inspections, clean-up duties, and routine maintenance. Ensure adherence to all safety policies and procedures. Additional Responsibilities: Perform routine maintenance on all cell-related equipment. Execute machine changeovers and start-up operations efficiently. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, production meetings, and process design. Qualifications & Skills: Plant crane training and certification required. Strong attention to detail in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Ability to lift 10 lbs. routinely and up to 75 lbs. occasionally. Availability for overtime, including before/after shifts and weekends. Strong organizational skills and ability to read and follow detailed instructions. Versatility to rotate through all tasks within the production cell. Machinery & Chemicals Used: Machinery: Langston, Beloit, Jagenburg, and Cameron Rewinders. Chemicals: Acetone for cleaning rollers. Working Conditions: Moderate temperature environment (55–100°F), higher near ovens. Noise levels up to 94 dB. Standing/walking ~80% of time; sitting 10%; bending 5%; climbing 5%. Lifting: Average 10 lbs., occasionally up to 50 lbs. PPE required: safety glasses, hearing protection, safety shoes, hard hat during crane operation.
