If this role aligns with your skills and career goals, we encourage you to apply!About the OpportunityWe’re supporting a large-scale modernization initiative and looking for a hands-on Full Stack Tech Lead to guide a development team through the rebuild of a legacy on‑prem application into a modern cloud-native environment on AWS. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys mentoring developers of varying experience levels, and wants to influence architecture, delivery practices, and engineering culture. You’ll be deeply involved across backend engineering, cloud services, DevOps workflows, frontend development, and AI-driven acceleration tools.Key Responsibilities:Serve as the hands-on technical lead for a team of 8 developers (with additional offshore support).Lead the rewrite of an existing application into a fully modernized AWS-based architecture.Design and build scalable backend services using Node.js, NestJS, TypeScript, and microservices patterns.Contribute to front-end development using React and Next.js.Own AWS cloud components including Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions, S3, CloudFront, and more.Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines in GitLab, and manage infrastructure using Terraform (IaC).Provide mentorship, code reviews, technical coaching, and best practice guidance to junior and mid-level engineers.Partner with architects and product teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.Support release management, planning, and deployment readiness activities.Utilize modern AI development tools to accelerate code delivery and automate repetitive tasks.Work across multiple priorities and deadlines in a high-volume environment.Core Tech Stack:BackendTypeScriptNode.js / NestJSREST APIs, MicroservicesPostgreSQL or OracleFrontendReact.jsNext.jsMicro-frontend concepts (module federation, state management tools)Cloud (AWS)LambdaAPI GatewayStep FunctionsS3 / CloudFrontIAM, Secrets Manager, Parameter StoreCloudWatchDevOps / ToolingGitLab CI/CDTerraform (Infrastructure as Code)Serverless development experienceAI ToolingExperience with tools like GitHub Copilot, CodeWhisperer, or integrating AI/ML models into workflowsAbility to leverage AI for code generation, review, and process automationWhat You Bring:10+ years of software engineering experience 3+ years in a technical lead capacity Strong experience modernizing or re‑platforming applications into AWS Deep backend expertise in Node.js, NestJS, TypeScript Solid front-end development experience with React/Next.js Hands‑on experience with AWS serverless services Experience building and owning CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure using Terraform Proven success mentoring and growing technical teams Strong analytical and problem‑solving mindset Ability to perform constructive, detailed code reviews Comfortable in high-pressure, fast-paced environments with shifting priorities Excited about AI-assisted development and applying automation to engineering workflows About Us: Brooksource, Medasource, and Calculated Hire are part of the Eight Eleven Group family of companies and operate under Eight Eleven Group, LLC.
