Director of Hydrometallurgy

CSG are confidentially partnered with a venture backed, deep technology company developing a proprietary hydrometallurgical process for critical metal extraction to address the global critical metals supply gap. Currently at pilot scale and rapidly progressing towards commercial scale up, they are now seeking a Director of Hydrometallurgy to lead technical execution across pilot operations, feedstock validation and scale up strategy.This is a senior leadership role reporting directly to the CTO, with an opportunity to influence technical direction, team growth and commercial integration.As Director of Hydrometallurgy, you will:Lead hydrometallurgical research and pilot-scale experimentationManage and develop a high-performing team of engineersGuide process validation, optimization, and scale-up strategyAnticipate metallurgical risks across varying copper feedstocksServe as the internal copper processing authority across technical and commercial teamsEnsure rigor in experimental design, laboratory oversight, and safety You have:12+ years of industrial experience in mining/metallurgical process engineering3-4 years leading high-performing teamsDeep technical expertise in hydrometallurgyStrong background in mineral characterization and advanced experimental designAbility to translate technical data into strategic business insightExperience with complex feedstocksDemonstrated process scale up experience (bench → pilot → industrial)Closed-loop system or environmental process design exposureExperience in venture backed or fast paced technology environmentsAdvanced degree (MSc or PhD in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or related field)Please note: This role is ONLY open to candidates with existing right to work permissions in the U.S. or citizens of Canada or Mexico (TN1 eligible).If you have the relevant experience and desire to lead innovation with real world impact, hit apply now!
