Litigation Attorney (Associate - Partner) - Insurance Defense

A growing national insurance defense practice is seeking Insurance Defense Litigation Attorneys across junior, mid-level, senior, and partner levels to join its California team.We are open to candidates ranging from recently barred associates through experienced senior litigators and partner-level hires.This role can be fully remote within California (for senior-level candidates) or tied to the San Diego or Walnut Creek offices.The practice focuses on:Trucking and transportation litigationPremises liability defenseGeneral liability defenseCatastrophic injury defenseWe are moving efficiently and can take candidates from initial conversation to decision within approximately two weeks.ResponsibilitiesIndependently manage a defense litigation docket from intake through resolutionDraft pleadings, discovery, dispositive motions, and legal memorandaTake and defend depositionsAppear at hearings and contribute meaningfully to trial preparationCommunicate directly with clients, claims professionals, and opposing counselParticipate in case strategy and evaluation discussionsQualificationsJ.D. from an accredited law schoolCalifornia Bar admission required1-15+ years of post-bar litigation experienceInsurance defense experience required for senior-level candidatesTrucking or transportation exposure required for senior-level candidatesDeposition experience requiredFirst-chair trial experience is a plusComfort managing files with limited supervisionStrong writing and motion practice skillsCompensationBase salary range: $125,000 – $250,000 plus performance-based bonus structure.Compensation calibrated to experience level and productivity.This is a litigation-heavy, growth-oriented platform designed for attorneys who want meaningful file ownership, real client interaction, and long-term advancement in insurance defense.Confidential inquiries welcome.
