*About The Role*
Hermes Abrasives is seeking a Quality Systems Coordinator to support the administration, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the company’s Quality Management System. This role is responsible for coordinating ISO 9001 documentation, audits, corrective actions, calibration, quality records, and related quality processes in a manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working cross-functionally with operations, manufacturing, engineering, quality, and administrative teams. This position requires strong knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements, practical problem-solving skills, and the ability to support continuous improvement initiatives that improve quality, consistency, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
*What You’ll Do*
* Maintain and control Quality Management System documentation, records, procedures, forms, work instructions, and related quality files in accordance with ISO 9001 requirements.
* Support the planning, coordination, and execution of internal, external, customer, and third-party audits.
* Track audit findings, non-conformances, corrective actions, and preventive actions to ensure timely closure and effective follow-up.
* Coordinate ISO 9001-related training activities, including training records, documentation, and compliance tracking.
* Manage calibration requirements for internal and external equipment, including schedules, records, certificates, and follow-up actions.
* Administer and support non-conformance, corrective action, and root cause analysis processes in collaboration with quality, manufacturing, engineering, and administrative teams.
* Prepare information, reports, and documentation for management reviews.
* Coordinate customer satisfaction surveys and support the analysis of customer feedback, complaints, and quality trends.
* Analyze internal and external quality issues and support actions to reduce complaints, defects, rework, and recurring problems.
* Use quality tools such as root cause analysis, 5 Why, Fishbone diagrams, FMEA, SPC, and corrective action methods to support problem solving.
* Support Lean and continuous improvement initiatives, including process reviews, standard operating procedures, and improvement documentation.
* Assist with quality-related KPI tracking, reporting, and analysis for manufacturing and converting operations.
* Recommend process improvements related to quality systems, documentation, equipment, technology, productivity, and compliance.
* Support company safety, environmental, and quality policies while working in a manufacturing environment.
*What We’re Looking For*
* Experience supporting or administering a Quality Management System in a manufacturing environment.
* Working knowledge of ISO 9001 standards, audit requirements, document control, corrective actions, and quality records.
* Experience of participating in internal audits, external audits, customer audits, or third-party certification audits.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to manage documentation, follow-up items, records, and multiple priorities.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to work with manufacturing, engineering, operations, quality, and administrative teams.
* Practical problem-solving ability and experience supporting root cause analysis or corrective action processes.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
* Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and occasionally move between work areas.
* Commitment to safety, quality, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction.
*Education & Qualifications*
* Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Operations, or a related field.
* Minimum of 3 years of experience in quality systems, quality assurance, manufacturing quality, process improvement, or a related function.
* Direct experience with ISO 9001 in a manufacturing environment.
* Experience with calibration coordination and audit preparation.
* Experience using quality tools such as FMEA, SPC, Fishbone diagrams, 5 Why, Pareto analysis, or similar methods.
* Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement experience.
* Experience in abrasives, converting, industrial products, or related manufacturing environments is an asset.
* Occasional travel may be required.
*Work Environment*
* Manufacturing environment with regular time spent on the production floor.
* May require the use of safety equipment or personal protective equipment.
* May involve exposure to noise, moving equipment, non-temperature-controlled areas, and limited exposure to chemicals or contaminants.
