You will contribute to the success of a client project by assisting with project management tasks. An Intern observes, inspects, and documents construction activities. Assignments are in a variety of areas including cost estimating, scheduling, quality management, and contract administration. Interns gain knowledge of construction sequencing and the construction process. Typically, Interns are assigned tasks with measurable results that are reviewed by the field/office engineering staff.Key ResponsibilitiesSchedule ManagementReviews contractor’s daily work schedule. Visits job sites to monitor progress and conformance with job schedule. Cost ManagementIntroduced to contractor’s billing and change order process Quality ManagementObserves and inspects the activities of contractors on the construction site.Prepares field measurements and quantity calculations.Assists Resident Engineer/field personnel in the coordination of field activities.Reviews contracts, plans, and specifications.Contract AdministrationPrepares and maintains proper documentation of all project-related activities. Regularly communicates with team as directed by supervising staff. Collects data and information for supervising staff.
