JPI has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Construction Analyst to join our Construction team located in Dallas, TX. The Senior Construction Analyst plays a critical role in supporting project planning, cost analysis, and performance tracking for construction projects. This position ensures accurate reporting, evaluation of project risks, and provides actionable insights to optimize efficiency and profitability. The Senior Construction Analyst will report to the SVP of Construction Operations.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Financial Analysis & Reporting
Prepare and analyze budgets, forecasts, and cost reports for construction projects.
Monitor project expenditures and identify variances against the budget.
Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting requirements.
Project Performance Monitoring
Track construction savings and contingency usage.
Track and evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs) such as schedule adherence, cost variance, and productivity rates.
Maintain and update construction mid-month reporting.
Help consolidate and report on ad hoc construction data to help construction management drive business.
Risk & Compliance
Identify financial and operational risk in projects and recommend mitigation strategies.
Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and contractual obligations.
Process Improvement & Technology
Support implementation of process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Assist with system upgrades and automation initiatives for reporting and analytics.
Develop and maintain dashboards and visualization tools (Power BI, Excel) for real-time project insights.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Precon, Construction Teams, and Trade teams to ensure alignment on budgets and cost tracking.
Participate in meetings to provide financial insights and support project planning.
Education, Work Experience, and Physical Requirements
Bachelor's degree, preferably in construction management, civil engineering, finance, or a related field.
2-5 years of experience in construction analytics, project controls, or cost management.
Familiarity with construction processes, contracts, and industry standards.
Experience with financial modeling and forecasting for construction projects
Proficiency in Excel, Project Management Software (Procore), and data visualization tools (Power BI, Oracle)
Knowledge of ERP systems (Workday/Sage) and construction accounting principles preferred.
