About the jobData Engineer | AI Infrastructure & Investment SystemsSan Francisco or New YorkPartnered with a highly technical investment firm building the next generation of AI-enabled investment infrastructure.Role focuses on building and maintaining the data foundations powering AI workflows, automation, and internal investment systems across both structured and unstructured data sources.Environment is highly collaborative, deeply technical, and centered around practical AI adoption across real-world business workflows.What You'll Work On• Building and maintaining production-grade data pipelines• Structuring and organizing fragmented internal and external datasets• Working across structured and unstructured data sources including PDFs, transcripts, emails, and research materials• Supporting AI-enabled workflows and downstream LLM systems• Designing scalable data infrastructure across AWS, Snowflake, APIs, and internal platforms• Partnering closely with technical leadership, operators, and investment professionalsIdeal Background• 2–4 years of experience in data engineering or analytics engineering• Strong SQL and Python experience• Experience building reliable production data pipelines• Exposure to unstructured data processing and AI-adjacent systems• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and Snowflake• Strong engineering judgment and ability to operate independentlyEnvironment & Working StyleHighly autonomous, builder-oriented environment with strong exposure to both technical and business stakeholders.Strong preference for onsite collaboration, particularly at the beginning. San Francisco is preferred, though New York is also open. Flexible hybrid environment over time, but not a minimal in-office setup.CompensationTarget total compensation ranges roughly from $250K–$350K depending on experience, including significant performance-driven bonus upside.
