About The Position
We are seeking a dedicated Program Instructor to join our amazing team. This role will play a vital part in maintaining and expanding our services for our valued Members. Working closely with other program staff, you will contribute to the overall growth and effectiveness of our programs. As an instructor, you will be involved in a diverse range of activities, including program planning, administration, and education. Under the supervision of the Assistant Director and with additional guidance from the Executive Director, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our Members.
This position requires a commitment of 28 hours a week and will be based in-person at our office in Culver City, CA.
Responsibilities
As part of the Program team, the responsibilities will include:
Plan, implement, and teach classes that emphasize independence, personal expression, and creativity while guiding Members in day-to-day services, including education, health & wellness, independent living skills, etc.
Develop and implement curriculum and activities aligned with the person-centered service model, adjusting and customizing program services to meet the needs of our Members and their goals.
Document program outcomes, lesson plans, and Member write-ups in the database (Google Workspace), including goals, progress, and activity provided.
Assists with maintaining Member attendance records and rosters, and prepares program progress reports for Westside Regional Center
Prepare and support Members for L.A. GOAL and Insideout Productions events.
Assisting with strategic planning, evaluation, workforce, and program planning as requested.
Assists with the new Member orientation.
Attends and participates in meetings and trainings as requested.
Assists with maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
Performs additional duties as assigned by the Assistant Director or Executive Director.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or degree from an accredited college, or 2 years of prior experience in a relevant field.
Previous experience teaching and working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
A self-starter who can take initiative, but must also be a team player.
Knowledge in Google Workspace and comfortability with Apple
Possess the patience and openness to work with and understand the individual and diverse needs, strengths, and talents of adults with DD/ID.
Experience with different methods of communication.
