Solar Technician

Job Description Job OverviewWe are seeking a skilled Solar O&M Field Technician to support the operations and maintenance of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. This role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining solar assets to ensure maximum system performance and uptime across utility-scale and commercial installations.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform preventive and corrective maintenance on solar PV systemsTroubleshoot and repair inverters, combiner boxes, transformers, and electrical componentsMonitor system performance using SCADA and reporting toolsDiagnose faults and implement solutions to minimize downtimeConduct site inspections, testing, and commissioning supportPerform electrical testing (voltage, insulation resistance, IV curve tracing)Maintain accurate maintenance logs, reports, and documentationEnsure compliance with safety standards and electrical codesCoordinate with internal teams and subcontractors when neededRequired QualificationsHigh school diploma or technical certification in electrical or related field2+ years of experience in solar O&M or electrical field workStrong knowledge of DC/AC systems and solar PV operationsHands-on experience with inverter troubleshooting (string/central)Ability to read electrical drawings and schematicsWillingness to travel to project sites and work outdoorsPreferred QualificationsExperience with utility-scale solar farms or commercial rooftop systemsFamiliarity with SCADA or monitoring systemsOSHA 10/30 or equivalent safety certificationNABCEP certification (for US-based roles)
