Operations Supervisor Location: St. Charles, IL Compensation: $80,000 – $100,000 base salary Bonus: Eligible for up to 10% annual bonusPosition OverviewA growing and established food manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor to lead day-to-day plant operations within a fast-paced production environment. This role will oversee Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Sanitation teams, managing approximately 50–60 employees while driving operational performance, food safety, and continuous improvement initiatives.The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong experience in food or beverage manufacturing who can effectively manage cross-functional teams, improve efficiencies, and maintain high standards for safety and quality.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and support both hourly and salaried employees across Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Sanitation departmentsEnsure production goals and schedules are achieved while maintaining safety, quality, and operational efficiency standardsMaintain compliance with GMPs, food safety regulations, and quality systems including FDA, USDA, SQF, and HACCP requirementsCollaborate with Quality teams to address product concerns, non-conformances, and corrective actionsPartner with Maintenance to troubleshoot equipment issues and reduce downtimeOversee sanitation processes to ensure production readiness and audit complianceTrack and analyze labor performance, productivity metrics, and operational KPIsProvide coaching, employee development, performance management, and corrective action when necessarySupport continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, throughput, efficiency, and cost reductionQualifications5+ years of leadership experience within food or beverage manufacturingProven experience managing large, cross-functional teams in a manufacturing environmentStrong understanding of GMPs, food safety standards, and quality systemsDemonstrated ability to lead within a fast-paced, high-volume operationExcellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skillsAbility to collaborate effectively across Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Sanitation departmentsPreferred QualificationsBilingual in English and SpanishExperience in unionized or high-volume manufacturing environmentsExposure to Lean Manufacturing, TPM, or continuous improvement methodologies
