Model Based Software Engineer (contract)

Job TitleUS CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED Position is ON SITE - manager NOT interested in remote workers Rate depends on experience with the 3 key skills and how many 'desired' skillsRequired Qualifications:Bachelor Degree in CS, EE or relevant discipline and 5 years experience with:Familiar with model-based software design (KEY)5+ years' experience in embedded controls softwareSimulink experiencePreferred Skills or "Pluses" / Nice to Have:Safety Critical Systems / Control systems for aircraftDO-178 compliant systems especially DO-178CDefining or analyzing software architecturesHW/SW and SW/SW integrationComponent level testingExperience with full software development life cycle (Requirements, Design, Verification and Release)Python, C, C++, GroovyContinuous integrationJenkins or other testing frameworksOther:Any experience with aircraft propulsion is a huge plusDuties:Develop safety-critical avionics / aircraft control software to DO-178C standardsSoftware architecture support for software-to-software integration and testingDevelop and modify processes and methodsSet up and modifying continuous integration / continuous deployment (CI/CD) frameworksLiaison with certification airworthiness authorities regarding audit findings
