Construction Superintendent
EXPERIENCED CANDIDATES ONLY! We have an immediate opening for an entry-mid Level Superintendent in commercial construction. EMA Builders, Inc. is a highly successful and growing Tenant Improvement General Contractor, with projects throughout the Southern and Northern California. We are looking for a Superintendent to supervise our projects throughout the NORTHERN CALIFORNIA area. The ideal candidate must possess the ability to manage multiple projects at one time, efficiently, accurately, on schedule, within budget, and with a high degree of quality. Knowledge of a variety of construction standards, methods, and procedures is required. Must be able to work remotely and have exceptional communication and organizational skills. Must be able to work in a fast paced, time sensitive, team environment. Must have excellent communications and keep up with heavy emails and communication.
Responsibilities include:
The commercial Superintendent will be responsible for the supervision and management of all aspects of assigned projects from mobilization through punch list and demobilization, including client relations and cost control of general conditions. Other duties include, but are not limited to:
Ensures that all construction work performed is of the highest quality
Quality checks should be done same day or max 24-hours after install...this is why we do ProActive Lists so that subs and PMs are notified immediately and at the end of the Project there is no/minimal punch list items...this should be your goal for all projects.
Assists Project Managers in formulating construction schedule and maintaining construction schedule throughout the project from start to finish
Assists Project Managers in Purchase Orders and confirming Item Descriptions, Quantity, Specs, etc
Supervises employees, subcontractors and vendors to ensure both quality control and project compliance
Schedules and directs all inspections with city officials, government agencies and private agencies as required
Schedules all trades and material deliveries daily
Resolves problems as they arise regarding plans or specifications, conflicts with the architect, engineer, clients and subcontractors and documentation of all corrections, changes and requests
Performs safety management responsibilities
Documents and completes all punch list items in a timely manner
Attends job start up and close out meetings
Working knowledge of all crafts (ability to read and understand specifications for all trades), and prior experience as a foreman or journeyman
Qualifications
Qualified candidates shall possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial tenant improvement construction
Must have a working knowledge of building codes and the ability to read plans.
Strong organizational skills, flexibility, and the ability to prioritize work assignments
Ability to travel throughout all areas of construction sites during all phases of a project
Motor vehicle driving record that is consistent with Company and insurance carrier standards and policies. Provides personal transportation that is insured, legal and reliable to multiple and sometimes distant jobsites
Uses cellular and electronic mail communication tools effectively so as to continuously remain within communication range of other company managers.
