Job Title: Middleware Administrator / Application Server EngineerLocation: Los Angeles / Irvine (Onsite) CA Duration: Long-Term Contract (Citizens Only ) Language : English and KoreanJob SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Middleware Administrator / Application Server Engineer to manage and support enterprise middleware environments across mission-critical applications. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in IBM WebSphere Application Server, Oracle WebLogic, Red Hat JBoss/WildFly, and Microsoft IIS, with proven experience in installation, configuration, administration, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and production support. This role requires close collaboration with application, database, infrastructure, and security teams to ensure high availability, reliability, and optimal performance of middleware platforms.Key ResponsibilitiesInstall, configure, administer, and maintain IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS), Oracle WebLogic Server, JBoss/WildFly, and Microsoft IIS environments.Deploy and manage enterprise applications (WAR, EAR) across Development, QA, UAT, and Production environments.Monitor middleware infrastructure, analyze logs, and proactively address performance and availability issues.Perform JVM tuning, heap analysis, capacity planning, and performance optimization.Troubleshoot and resolve production incidents, root cause issues, and system outages.Implement and maintain clustering, high availability (HA), load balancing, and failover configurations.Manage SSL certificates, web security configurations, and authentication mechanisms.Apply patches, upgrades, and version management while ensuring minimal downtime.Collaborate with application developers, network teams, database administrators, and security teams to support end-to-end application availability.Develop and maintain automation scripts using Shell, Python, or PowerShell to streamline administrative tasks.Support change management activities and ensure compliance with enterprise standards and ITIL processes.Participate in 24x7 on-call support and incident response activities as required.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.7+ years of hands-on experience in middleware and application server administration.Strong experience with:IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS)Oracle WebLogic ServerRed Hat JBoss / WildFlyMicrosoft IIS (Internet Information Services)Experience deploying, configuring, and troubleshooting Java-based enterprise applications.Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix and Windows server environments.Expertise in JVM tuning, heap analysis, garbage collection, and performance optimization.Experience with SSL certificates, security configurations, and load balancing technologies.Proficiency in scripting languages such as Shell, Python, or PowerShell.Experience supporting highly available and clustered environments.Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.Preferred QualificationsExperience with cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure.Knowledge of container technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Prometheus, or Grafana.Understanding of DevOps practices and Infrastructure as Code concepts.ITIL Foundation certification or experience with Incident, Change, and Problem Management processes.Desired SkillsStrong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Strong documentation and organizational skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.Flexibility to participate in rotational on-call and after-hours support activities.Nice to HaveExperience with Apache HTTP Server, Nginx, or reverse proxy configurations.Exposure to cloud-native technologies and microservices architecture.Knowledge of Ansible, Jenkins, Git, or other automation and DevOps tools.This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment supporting enterprise-scale middleware infrastructure and mission-critical applications while contributing to platform modernization and operational excellence.
