We're excited to provide the best education in the best environment to our students!Academies of Math and ScienceFine Arts Teacher (K-8) - 2026-2027 School YearLocation: 7301 E Baseline Road, Mesa, AZ 85209Compensation Range: $48,331.25 - $54,571.88 (DOE)Start Date: Summer 2026Position OverviewAcademies of Math and Science (AMS) is a network of high-performing K-8 public charter schools committed to academic excellence, college readiness, and equitable access to high-quality education for students in historically underserved communities.AMS is seeking a creative and passionate Fine Arts Teacher (K-8) to join our team at the AMS Power Campus in Mesa for the 2026-2027 school year.The Fine Arts Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging instruction that develops students' artistic expression, creativity, and appreciation for the visual and performing arts. The ideal candidate will create a supportive and structured learning environment where scholars can explore artistic techniques, develop creative confidence, and connect artistic learning to broader academic experiences.AMS teachers are collaborative professionals who believe that all scholars can achieve at high levels through strong instructional practices, structured classroom environments, and data-informed teaching.Key ResponsibilitiesInstruction & Student AchievementDeliver engaging fine arts instruction aligned with AMS curriculum and Arizona academic standards.Teach foundational concepts in visual arts, creative expression, and artistic techniques.Differentiate instruction to support students performing above and below grade level.Incorporate creative projects that allow students to explore artistic expression and cultural perspectives.Use formative assessments to monitor student progress and guide instructional planning.Classroom Culture & Student DevelopmentEstablish and maintain a structured, positive, and engaging classroom environment.Implement PBIS and proactive classroom management strategies.Encourage creativity, collaboration, and confidence in artistic expression.Support students' academic, behavioral, and social-emotional development.Collaboration & Professional GrowthParticipate in weekly professional development and professional learning communities (PLCs).Collaborate with classroom teachers and instructional leaders to support cross-curricular learning opportunities.Contribute to school-wide initiatives that promote student engagement and school culture.Support school events or showcases that celebrate student creativity and artistic achievement.Family EngagementCommunicate regularly with families regarding student progress and classroom activities.Participate in parent-teacher conferences and school events.Support opportunities for families to engage with student artistic work.Minimum QualificationsCandidates must meet one of the following requirements:Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Fine Arts, Art Education, Education, or relevant content area)ORValid Arizona teaching certification in a relevant subject areaORMinimum of three (3) years of K-12 teaching experienceAdditionally, candidates must:Demonstrate strong classroom management skillsPass required background checks and obtain an IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance CardShow commitment to serving Title I and multilingual communitiesDemonstrate strong analytical skills and a data-driven instructional mindsetExhibit collaboration, professionalism, and initiative in a team-based environmentCompensation & BenefitsAMS offers a competitive compensation and benefits package designed to support professional growth and long-term career success.Competitive salary based on experience401(k) retirement plan with employer contributionsMedical, dental, life, and disability insuranceOptional vision coveragePerformance bonusesStipend opportunities for tutoring, intervention, clubs, or extracurricular leadershipOngoing professional development and instructional coaching
