SummaryThe Network Engineering Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operation, reliability, and support of the health system's enterprise network infrastructure across hospitals, clinics, and remote facilities. This role leads a team of network engineers responsible for implementing, maintaining, and supporting network services that enable critical clinical and business systems.Working under the direction of the Director of Network Services, this position ensures stable and secure network operations while translating strategic initiatives into operational execution. Be on their team.Engineering Team LeadershipManage and mentor a team of network engineers responsible for infrastructure deployment and support.Establish operational priorities, service expectations, and workload distribution across the team.Provide technical leadership, coaching, and professional development for engineering staff.Participate in hiring, onboarding, and performance management.Network Operations & ReliabilityLead day-to-day operations of the enterprise network supporting hospitals, clinics, and remote locations.Ensure availability and performance of LAN, WAN, wireless, internet edge, and data center connectivity.Maintain reliable connectivity supporting clinical systems.Oversee monitoring, incident response, and escalation for network outages or service degradation.Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions following significant incidents.Campus & Data Center ResiliencyEnsure resilient network connectivity across hospital campuses, remote clinics, and data center environments.Support infrastructure design and operational readiness for disaster recovery and business continuity.Maintain network connectivity supporting redundant data center environments and disaster recovery sites.Participate in planning and testing activities supporting system-wide resiliency and failover capabilities.Infrastructure Implementation & Lifecycle ManagementOversee implementation of network upgrades, refresh initiatives, and infrastructure deployments.Ensure engineering standards and configuration practices are consistently applied.Manage lifecycle maintenance including firmware upgrades, patching, and hardware refresh planning.Change Management & Documentation'* Ensure network changes follow established change management and operational procedures.* Maintain accurate network documentation including diagrams, standards, and operational runbooks.Security & ComplianceWork with Information Security teams to implement secure network architecture and segmentation.Ensure network infrastructure supports organizational security policies and regulatory requirements.Assist with internal and external audit activities related to network controls and infrastructure.Strategic CollaborationPartner with the Director of Network Services to support long-term network strategy and architecture planning.Provide operational insight into infrastructure design, technology selection, and modernization initiatives.Evaluate emerging technologies that improve resiliency, security, and operational efficiency.¿Vendor & Service Provider ManagementCoordinate with vendors and service providers for support escalations and service improvements.Assist with vendor evaluations and lifecycle management of network technologies and services.Lead engineering execution of network infrastructure projects supporting system modernization.Ensure successful transition of new infrastructure into operational supportORGANIZATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIESAssociate complies with the following organizational requirements:Attends and participates in department meetings and is accountable for all information timeframes.Maintains license/certification, registration in good standing throughout fiscal year.Direct patient care providers are required to maintain current BCLS (CPR) and other certifications as requirements, survey process and compliance.Complies with established organization and department policies.Available to work overtime in addition to working additional or other shifts and schedules through accountability.Use information to improve and advance.Communicate clearly and continuously.Education and ExperienceSeven or more years of experience in network engineering or infrastructure operations, including three or more years in a leadership role managing technical staff.Experience supporting large, multi-site enterprise environments such as healthcare systems, large corporations, or other organizations requiring highly available infrastructure.Experience managing network infrastructure across multiple facilities and remote locations, including hospitals, clinics, or distributed enterprise sites.Industry certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent networking certifications are preferred.Knowledge & SkillsStrong knowledge of enterprise network architecture and operations, including LAN, WAN, wireless networking, data center networking, and internet edge infrastructure.Experience operating within multi-vendor network environments, including platforms such as Cisco, Aruba, Palo Alto, Juniper, or similar enterprise networking technologies.Knowledge of network resiliency, high availability design, disaster recovery connectivity, and business continuity planning supporting mission-critical systems.Experience supporting network infrastructure that enables critical applications and clinical systems requiring high availability and operational reliability.Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex network infrastructure issues.Leadership skills necessary to manage engineering teams, establish operational priorities, and effectively utilize technical resources.Strong organizational and project coordination skills supporting infrastructure upgrades, system implementations, and operational improvements.Effective written and verbal communication skills necessary to collaborate with technical teams, leadership, vendors, and business stakeholders.Interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with vendors and associates across the organization while maintaining a strong customer service focus.Working ConditionsWorks in an office environment.This position requires a strong commitment to a 24 hours/day, 7 days/week computer operations environment.May experience some mental/visual fatigue due to continued use of computer
