Learn more on dxc.com.Senior Network Technician / Jr. Network EngineerWorks issues related to the support, and operation of specialized components of a network, such as Local Area Networks (LAN) and Wireless LANs (WLAN) systems. Configures, maintains network infrastructure such as switches, wireless controllers, and access points.Hiring RequirementsThe client is in a controlled goods program environment and must comply with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), which mandates that all applicants be U.S. Citizens (preferred) or Permanent ResidentsEssential Job FunctionsSupports the maintenance of network hardware and systemsSupports problem resolution of problems to less experienced personnel.Runs testing routines or scripts provided by engineering staff; may conduct more complex testing to meet specified requirements.Maintains LAN, WLAN, or DDI Systems in accordance with specified requirements.Performs Network IMACD work for customer, based on ticket requests.Provides consultation, support and guidance to clients on IMACD issues/questions.Participates in network team efforts to ensure DXC meets client needs.Basic Qualifications2-5 years of experience in networks IMACD activities (Hands-On)Cisco Systems familiarity- Switching (switching layer 2 and 3)- WirelessUnderstanding of TCP/UDP IP ProtocolKnowledge of industrial networking an assetServiceNow experience preferred- Task management- Change management- Problem managementExperience working with network systems, networking principlesExperience working with network software and hardwareExperience working with proprietary software and hardwareOther QualificationsSkilled in time, priority, and task managementInterpersonal skills to interact with customers and team membersGood communication skills to interact with team members and support personnelGood leadership skills to guide and mentor the work of less experienced personnelAbility to work independently and as part of a teamGood problem-solving skills for IMACD of network infrastructureWork EnvironmentOffice – on-site Rockford, ILCompensation at DXC is influenced by an array of factors, including but not limited to the experience, job-related knowledge, skills, competencies, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. A reasonable estimate of the current compensation range for this position is $45,900 - $85,300.Full-time hires are eligible to participate in the DXC benefit program.
