Licensing Specialist I
Job DescriptionThe primary responsibility of this role is to ensure compliance with allnecessary state and local business license and tax liabilities required forbusiness activities. This role requires effective collaboration withgovernment agencies, regulatory bodies, and internal stakeholders tofacilitate the licensing process.Essential Functions Monitor state and/or local licensing‐related requirements applicableto retail store locations or other company business activities. Complete tax analyses to determine business license and taxliabilities, including gross receipts filings. Ability to collaborate effectively with government agencies, internalstakeholders (including Executive Leadership), and regulatory bodiesto gather necessary documents and facilitate the licensing process. Maintain an accurate record of licensing documents and adhere tocompliance while performing payment processing andaccounting duties, such as payment reconciliations and journalentries. Assist with mediating issues at the store level that could impactlicensure and business operations. (e.g. inspections, violations) Model behaviors that support the company’s common purpose;ensure guests and team members are supported at the highest level Coordinate research and obtain licenses for new applications, newstore openings, and economic impact analyses. Work with Licensing Specialist or Supervisor and/or individually leadlicensing projects. Serve as liaison for the Licensing Department between internaldepartments (such as Merchandise, Construction, Real Estate,Company Housing, etc.) in order to maintain regulatory complianceas well as any reporting, as needed Coordinate with third‐party consultants to facilitate business taxpayments and audits Other duties as assignedQualificationsBachelor’s degree in related business field preferred, accountingPreferredMinimum of 1‐2 years of multi‐state general retail licensing experience
