Front-end Developer, Design Systems
Role DetailsWe’re seeking a Front-End Engineer, Design Systems, to join our Design Systems team. This is a contract role for 6 months and is fully remote.ResponsibilitiesBuild and maintain reusable components, patterns, and libraries across CBS products, ensuring consistency, scalability, and accessibility.Develop and maintain a comprehensive system of design tokens that streamline workflows across multiple teams.Set up and manage integrations between design tools, code repositories, and deployment pipelinesCollaborate closely with teams to translate Figma components into modular, accessible front-end code.Support the design team to ensure our Figma libraries and implementation are aligned.Build tooling, such as Figma plugins, to support designer and engineer collaboration.Create functional prototypes and assist in refining components based on usability testing and user feedback.Contribute to the documentation and education around the design system, helping to train and support teams in using the system effectively.Contribute to process improvements that support the development, distribution, and adoption of the design system across platforms (web, mobile, and beyond).Stay updated with new front-end technologies and trends and advocate for their inclusion when appropriate to ensure the design system evolves in line with industry standards.QualificationsYou have:Have at least 3 years of professional experience shipping features or products as a frontend or full-stack developer.Expert proficiency with Figma and experience converting design tokens into code.Have experience working on design systems or other internal platform projectsSolid knowledge of front-end development, including HTML, CSS, Sass, Typescript, and React.Have proactive communication skills and a desire to work in a collaborative environment among designers, engineers, and non-technical stakeholders.Understand web standards, mobile frameworks, accessibility (WCAG), and responsive design best practices.A keen eye for detail and a deep appreciation for craft.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with a design system management platform such as Supernova.Experience with component development tools like Storybook or other UI documentation tools.A background in UI/UX design.
