Facilitates efficient and cost effective daily operations of the unit in relation to patient throughput including admissions, discharges and transfers. Promotes a culture of safety and quality by ensuring continuity and consistency in the implementation of established standards, protocols, policies and procedures. In collaboration with the Director of Nursing, participates in the establishment of unit short and long term goals and ensures its alignment with the hospital’s overall strategic goals. Accountable for monitoring staff compliance with regulatory, hospital and divisional requirements. Now, you have the opportunity to join us.As a 58-bed Level IV tertiary NICU, we care for newborns who require the highest level of neonatal intensive care including HIE requiring total body cooling, extremely low birth weight premature infants, newborns with complex surgical conditions and neonates with complicated respiratory disorders that might need ECMO. Our Level IV NICU has one of the lowest chronic lung disease rates in the whole country and our center has a world renowned NICU comfort care program as well being a fetal surgery center for neonates with neurological conditions like myelomeningocele. As a magnet designated children's hospital, we take pride in our highly skilled clinical nurses who offer the most current and evidence-based family centered care to our tiny patientsThis is a full time mid shift position at NewYork-Presbyterian/Morgan Stanley Children's HospitalPreferred Criteria:Five years of leadership experience in a NICU or within a large academic medical centerDemonstrated leadership in leading unit developmentExperience with union environmentsNational CertificationRequired Criteria:At least three years of Level IV NICU experienceFour years of leadership experienceBCLS and NRPMaster's degree in Nursing (MSN)Current NYS RN licensure (or willingness to obtain within 3 months)Join a healthcare system where employee engagement is at an all-time high.
