Registered Nurse

Job Summary: The Registered Nurse in the ICU/CCU provides skilled nursing care to critically ill patients, working collaboratively with the healthcare team. This role involves comprehensive patient assessment, medication administration, and advanced respiratory and cardiac support. The RN will work night shifts, every other weekend, and must possess strong critical thinking and emergency response skills. Location:Jacksonville, Illinois, United States Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive nursing care to ICU/CCU patients.Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias.Manage patients with multi-system organ failure.Obtain and interpret 12-lead EKGs.Implement and manage IV insulin protocols.Care for patients with chronic and acute renal failure.Perform arterial line management.Administer blood products.Provide central and PICC line care and management.Initiate and maintain IVs.Administer continuous IV paralytics, neuromuscular blockade, and sedation.Manage emergency medications.Titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips.Assist with BiPAP and CPAP management.Assist with chest tube insertion and removal.Provide care for ventilated patients.Manage patients on high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC).Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs).Perform endotracheal and nasotracheal suctioning.Manage ventilators.Implement infection prevention and isolation precautions.Manage surgical wounds with drains and wound vacs.Float within scope to meet facility needs.
