Senior Accountant (New York)

OverviewWe are seeking a Senior Accountant to join a growing accounting team. This role will be heavily involved in the month-end close process, intercompany accounting, account reconciliations, and SOX/internal controls. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of GAAP, experience working in a fast-paced environment, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.ResponsibilitiesAssist with the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processPrepare and post journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliationsManage intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and eliminationsSupport SOX compliance and internal control documentation/testingAnalyze financial results and investigate variancesMaintain general ledger accuracy and ensure compliance with GAAPAssist with external audits and provide supporting documentationPartner with FP&A and operational teams on reporting and analysisHelp improve accounting processes and streamline workflowsSupport ad hoc projects and reporting requests as neededQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting or FinanceCPA preferred or in progress3+ years of accounting experiencePublic accounting experience is a plusExperience with month-end close and intercompany accounting requiredExposure to SOX/internal controls preferredStrong Excel skills and ERP system experienceStrong communication skills and attention to detailPreferred BackgroundPublic/private accounting mix preferredExperience in manufacturing, consumer products, or public company environments is a plus
