VP of Engineering & Technology

Scion Technology has been engaged to conduct a search for an experienced Vice President of Engineering & Technology for our client, a nonprofit tech company out of New York! This direct hire opportunity offers a hybrid schedule in Midtown Manhattan. The VP will be responsible for translating strategic business goals into innovative, scalable, and secure platform solutions that energize the marketplace and internal operations.PERKSCompetitive annual salary up to $275k/yr (depending on experience)Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insuranceChance to lead transformative initiatives at a company committed to innovation, impact, and growthRESPONSIBILITIESStrategic Leadership: Define and execute the long-term technology vision and modernize platform architecture to support scalability, performance, and reliability.Team & Vendor Management: Build, mentor, and scale engineering teams; oversee external vendor relationships and ensure seamless collaboration.Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate with Product, Design, Marketing, and Operations to translate strategic goals into actionable technical initiatives.Innovation & Security: Drive AI applications, automation, and best practices for security and compliance to enhance operational efficiency and protect assets.QUALIFICATIONS10+ years in software and technology with significant leadership experience steering multi-disciplinary teamsProven expertise in web platforms, cloud infrastructure, and modern architectural patternsDeep experience leading modernization/replatforming initiatives i.e. migrating from monolithic systems to microservices, APIs, and cloud-native infrastructuresStrong background in e-commerce requiredSkilled at operating both strategically and tactically, translating business needs into technical solutionsExperience in auctions or marketplace platforms a plusFamiliarity with AI/ML applications and automation preferredTrack record of scaling organizations during periods of growth or transformation desiredCOMPENSATION & BENEFITSThis full-time position offers an annual base salary up to $275k, commensurate with experience.
