Opportunity SnapshotWe put the unity in "opportunity."Compensation: $70-74/hour DOELocation: Sabine Pass, TXAssignment Duration: 12 months+Work Schedule: Part time / 3 days per week / 30 hours / could go full timeBenefits: Comprehensive insurance with 401(k), PTO and holidaysResponsibilitiesPerform receipt inspections of incoming materials and equipment, such as piping, valves, rotating machinery, and other mechanical components, to confirm compliance with purchase order specifications, project standards, and quality requirementsValidate the accuracy and completeness of delivery documentation, including purchase orders, material test reports (MTRs), certificates of compliance (COCs), and packing listsExamine materials for physical damage, manufacturing defects, or deviations from specified requirementsConduct Positive Material Identification (PMI) to verify material composition aligns with project and design requirements. Take dimensional measurements to ensure materials and equipment conform to design and fabrication specificationsEnsure materials and equipment comply with applicable industry codes, standards, and project specifications (e.g., ASME, API, ANSI)Confirm that all materials are traceable and tagged in accordance with project requirements. Ensure full traceability of materials and equipment by confirming certificates, markings, and identification tags are accurate and aligned with project requirementsVerify compliance with Client's quality control procedures and project requirementsReview and verify documentation such as Manufacturer's Data Books (MDBs), Material Test Certificates (MTCs), inspection and test records, and other supplier-provided quality documents for accuracy and complianceMaintain comprehensive and detailed records of inspection findings and results. Prepare and submit material and equipment receipt inspection reports to the QA/QC team and relevant project stakeholdersIdentify non-conformances, document findings, and collaborate with suppliers to resolve issues promptlyUtilize the SAP Quality Management (QM) Module to track inspection results, document quality records, and manage non-conformancesRecord inspection findings and generate quality notifications in SAP for non-compliant materials or equipment. Identify and document non-conforming materials or equipment, working collaboratively with suppliers or contractors to address and resolve quality issuesCoordinate and monitor corrective actions to ensure non-conformances are resolved effectively and within established timelines. Prepare and issue non-conformance reports (NCRs) for materials and equipment that do not meet specified requirementsCollaborate closely with procurement, engineering, and suppliers to resolve quality concerns and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrenceCommunicate inspection results and non-conformance issues with the QA/QC Manager and other relevant departments. Prepare detailed inspection reports, including photographs and supporting documentationQualificationsA high school diploma or equivalent is required; an associate's or bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field is preferredCertifications in Welding, Coating, and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) are highly desirable. Certification in Positive Material Identification (PMI) or equivalent experience is considered an assetProficiency in ASME, API, and other relevant industry codes and standards is essentialMinimum of 5 years of experience in receipt inspection or quality control in the oil and gas, LNG, or manufacturing industryHands-on experience with SAP Quality Management (QM) Module is essentialExperience with mechanical and piping materials, valves, and rotating equipment inspectionProficient in the use of measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges) for dimensional inspectionsStrong knowledge of material specifications, testing standards, and document review processesExperience reviewing Manufacturer's Data Books (MDBs), Material Test Certificates (MTCs), and related inspection/test documentationStrong attention to detail and analytical skillsEffective communication skills, both verbal and writtenProficient in Microsoft Office Suite and SAP QM ModuleThe Bergaila Way:The Bergaila Companies is a nationally recognized leader in providing staffing services to all sectors of the energy industry.
