Telco Installation Technician
Position Overview
ETS Telco Installation Technicians install, maintain, and support broadband and telecommunications services for residential and small business customers. Technicians are responsible for performing installations, troubleshooting network issues, and ensuring systems remain operational with minimal downtime.
This role requires strong technical problem solving, customer service, and communication skills. Technicians work both remotely and on-site, proactively supporting customers and ensuring the reliability of ETS network services.
Installation Technicians perform installations and repairs under the supervision of a team leader. Responsibilities include installing internet services, responding to service requests, diagnosing system issues, running tests, and providing end-user support.
ETS also services its own wireless towers. Candidates with tower climbing or tower maintenance experience are strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Prepare for installations by reviewing service orders and gathering tools, equipment, and materials
Coordinate installation schedules with customers
Evaluate installation sites and determine equipment placement and wiring plans
Install wireless broadband equipment and related infrastructure
Run, pull, and terminate Cat5/6 cabling
Configure, program, and calibrate networking equipment
Test systems and connections to verify proper operation
Diagnose and troubleshoot network and equipment issues
Document installations, service work, and repairs
Provide responsive and professional customer support
Maintain strong customer relationships by addressing questions and concerns
Follow all safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment
Maintain tool and equipment inventory
Identify opportunities to improve service delivery and installation processes
Assist with installation of wireless antennas on towers and other vertical assets
Job Requirements
Valid driver’s license
Ability to pass criminal background and MVR (driving record) screening
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
Ability to lift up to 70 pounds
Ability to climb ladders up to 40 feet
Comfortable working at heights

Experience & Certifications
ETS values candidates with diverse technical backgrounds. Applicants with some or all of the following experience are encouraged to apply:
1–2 years of technical field experience preferred
Experience installing or supporting cable, satellite, telecommunications, electrical, or home security systems
2+ years in a telecommunications or broadband field technician role preferred
Knowledge of telecom architectures including LAN, WAN, and IP networks
Basic understanding of TCP/IP networking
Experience running and terminating Cat5e, Cat6, or fiber cabling
Tower climbing or tower installation experience (highly desirable)
Candidates with strong technical aptitude and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply, even if they do not meet every qualification listed.
