Job Description
Core Responsibilities*Food Preparation & Execution*· Follow the recipes and preparation guidelines to ensure consistency of the authentic Caribbean cuisine profile. · Operate equipment such as fryers, ovens, range, and other appliances used in the preparation of menu items.*Quality Control*· Evaluate dishes for optimal flavor, texture, and presentation prior to delivery.*Menu Input*· Collaborate with ownership to develop and refine menu items that represent the brand and meet takeout requirements.*Kitchen Leadership*· Supervise line prep staff to ensure efficient workflow during peak times.· Train team members in techniques crucial to Caribbean cuisine, such as roti, oxtail stew, callaloo, and jerk chicken, maintaining strict adherence to food safety standards.· Manage shifts and oversee operations in the absence of the head chef.*To-Go Specific Responsibilities*· Oversee packaging to ensure meals retain temperature and quality during transport.· Maintain balance between rapid service and product excellence essential for takeout success.· Monitor inventory levels of key ingredients (e.g., plantains, scotch bonnet peppers, coconut milk etc.) and coordinate reordering.*Hygiene & Safety*· Uphold compliance with health codes and food handling regulations.· Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, utensils, and equipment.*Communication & Coordination*· Liaise with front-of-house and delivery teams (if applicable) to guarantee accurate and punctual order completion.· Incorporate customer feedback to improve culinary output and service procedures.· Process payments and handle cash, credit cards, and mobile transactions accurately.*Multitasking*· Demonstrate efficiency and composure while multitasking and prioritizing customer needs during busy periods.· Assist with the receiving and storing of food items.Minimum Education Requirements/Certifications· High school diploma or GED requiredExperience Preferred· Minimum two years in a comparable restaurant rolePhysical Requirements· Capable of standing for extended durations· Ability to lift 50 poundsRequired Licenses/Certifications· ServSafe CertificationAvailability· Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidaysOpportunity to be part of a brand that values culture, flavor, and communityCompany DescriptionAbout UsPimento Bay Kitchen and Marketplace is dedicated to serving authentic Caribbean cuisine with bold flavors.
