Senior Counsel - Employment and Litigation

Working independently, the Senior Counsel - Employment and Litigation will provide legal guidance on a wide range of litigation and employment related issues for the Company. Principal outcomes include ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, and advising the Company on legal rights and duties. This position sits onsite 5 days a week in Grapevine, TX. ResponsibilitiesManage ongoing litigation, including employment, real estate and commercial litigation.Counsel on employment and compensation related matters, including hiring, discipline, accommodations and leaves, and serve as a liaison to the human resources department.Support the development of organizational policies, procedures and business strategies.Effectively leverage outside law firm attorneys and manage relationships with external legal affiliates.Provide advice regarding compliance with various laws and regulations, including wage and hour and employment practices laws.Supporting the Company in its compliance program, including maintain the Company’s Code of Ethics and Whistleblower Hotline.Assist with the negotiation and evaluation of a wide variety of commercial contractsManaging additional legal projects as needed. Related CompetenciesCultivating Networks - Initiating and maintaining strategic relationships with stakeholders inside and outside the organization to advance business goals.Navigating Complexity - Proactively and quickly making sense of complex issues; responding effectively to complex and ambiguous situations; communicating complicated information simply.Negotiation - Effectively exploring alternatives/positions to reach outcomes that gain the support and acceptance of all parties.Technical/Professional Knowledge and Skills - Having achieved a satisfactory level of technical and professional skill or knowledge in position-related areas; keeping up with current developments and trends in areas of expertise. QualificationsDoctorate of Jurisprudence from an accredited program requiredLicensed to practice law in at least one stateA minimum of five years of relevant experience.
