This role is designed for a forward-thinking accounting professional who combines deep technical expertise with a passion for leveraging technology to modernize and scale accounting operations. This position carries a clear path to Controller as Precision Medicine continues to grow.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Close & ReportingParticipate heavily in the end-to-end monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with GAAPReview and analyze financial statements to identify discrepancies, trends, and areas requiring attentionPrepare and present financial reports and variance analyses to senior leadershipMaintain and continuously improve the integrity of financial dataEstablish processes that secure timely month-end closeManage Accounts Payable TeamAssign workloads and set performance expectationsReview work for accuracy and completenessEnsure that invoice turnaround goals are metDevelop and enforce workflows for three-way match within RampImplement invoice approval within RampTrack and report KPIs (invoice turnaround time, error rates, etc.)Handle escalations, resolve billing discrepancies, prevent duplicate payments and fraudOutsourced Team & Partner ManagementServe as the primary day-to-day point of contact and manager for the outsourced bookkeeping team, ensuring accountability and quality of deliverablesSet clear expectations, review work product, and drive continuous improvement across outsourced functionsTechnology & Process InnovationLead the adoption and optimization of accounting technology within our tech stack, including Sage Intacct, Ramp, and third-party reporting and modeling toolsChampion the use of AI tools for invoice processing, bookkeeping automation, and financial reporting — focused on innovation and process leadership, not heads-down executionIdentify opportunities to streamline and modernize accounting workflows through technology, driving efficiency and scalabilityEvaluate and implement new tools that enhance the overall accounting and finance functionFinancial Analysis & ControlsPerform financial analysis including review of financial statements, budget-to-actual comparisons, and identification of anomalies or risksSupport the development and maintenance of internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure complianceAssist in preparation of materials for audits, board reporting, and investor-facing financial packagesQualificationsRequired5+ years of progressive accounting experience, Hands-on experience with Sage Intacct — must be proficient in system navigation, reporting, and configurationExperience with Ramp, including implementation of spend controls, bill pay, and other Ramp functionalityAdvanced Excel skills, and demonstrated ability to leverage AI-assisted tools within ExcelStrong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standardsDemonstrated experience managing outsourced teams or third-party accounting service providersProven ability to analyze financial statements and identify discrepancies, trends, and risksPreferredExperience in a high-growth startup or healthcare/life sciences environmentFamiliarity with AI-powered accounting and finance tools (e.g., for invoice processing, bookkeeping automation, or financial planning)Experience with third-party financial reporting, modeling, or BI toolsCost accounting experience in a manufacturing environmentWhat We OfferA high-impact role with direct visibility to the CFO and a defined path to ControllerThe opportunity to shape and modernize the accounting function at a growing companyA collaborative, mission-driven team cultureSalary Range: The anticipated base salary range for this role is $110,000-$140,000 per year. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as relevant experience, skills, education, and location.
