Senior Tax Analyst (SALT)

One of the first key hires is a State and Local Tax (SALT) Senior-a subject matter expert who will provide strategic guidance and technical expertise across a wide range of state and local tax issues.This is an outstanding opportunity for a SALT professional to take on a highly visible, impactful role within a growing financial services organization.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and review federal and state corporate income tax returns, estimated payments, and extensions.Support quarterly and annual income tax provision processes under ASC 740, including deferred tax calculations and supporting workpapers.Assist with tax audits by gathering documentation, responding to inquiries, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.Research and interpret federal and state tax laws, regulations, and rulings to ensure compliance and identify planning opportunities.Maintain and reconcile income tax accounts and deferred tax balances.Assist in developing and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in tax reporting.Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate data for tax filings and provisions.Support special projects such as M&A due diligence, tax planning initiatives, and legal entity rationalization.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related fieldCPA or Master's in Taxation strongly preferred1-5+ years of relevant SALT experience, ideally in public accounting or a large corporate tax environmentStrong technical knowledge of multistate income/franchise and sales/use taxProven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Preferred Skills & ToolsProficiency in ONESOURCE, Checkpoint, and other tax research toolsStrong analytical and tax research capabilitiesDeep understanding of state and local tax laws and regulatory frameworksHigh level of proficiency with Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
