Our catering program serves private events, weddings, corporate gatherings, and large-scale functions across our venues and off-site locations.Position OverviewThe Catering Chef is a creative and highly organized culinary leader responsible for planning, preparing, and executing food for catering events and special functions. This role requires a hands-on chef who thrives in a fast-paced environment, communicates effectively with both kitchen and event teams, and can manage multiple priorities simultaneously.The ideal candidate is passionate about food, creative in menu development, detail-oriented in execution, and energized by the dynamic nature of catering and events.Key ResponsibilitiesCatering & Event ExecutionPlan, prep, and execute food production for on-site and off-site catering eventsCoordinate kitchen production to ensure food is prepared, transported, and presented at the highest qualityManage multiple events, timelines, and prep schedules simultaneouslyMaintain consistency, organization, and efficiency during high-volume event productionMenu Creation & Culinary CreativityDevelop creative, seasonal catering menus and event-specific offeringsCollaborate with management and sales teams to design menus that match client needs and event themesInnovate with new dishes, presentation styles, and culinary techniques that elevate the catering experienceTeam Leadership & CommunicationLead and work alongside the culinary team in a hands-on role during prep and serviceClearly communicate event timelines, prep lists, and execution plans with kitchen and event staffFoster teamwork and a positive kitchen culture focused on collaboration and efficiencyKitchen Operations & Food SafetyMaintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environmentEnsure all food preparation meets health department and food safety standardsOversee proper food handling, storage, and transport proceduresInventory & Cost ManagementAssist with purchasing, inventory control, and food cost managementPlan production efficiently to minimize waste and maximize product utilizationSupport the management team in maintaining profitability while delivering exceptional foodQualificationsMinimum 5 years culinary experience, with catering or high-volume event experience preferredStrong menu development and creative culinary skillsAbility to multitask and manage multiple events in a fast-paced environmentExcellent communication and teamwork skillsHands-on leadership style with strong attention to detailKnowledge of food safety standards and kitchen operationsCulinary school certification or equivalent experience preferred
