Senior Analyst, Cloud Cost OptimizationMastercard's operations and technology business unit operates the company's global payments processing infrastructure and development. The technology finance team provides business unit support for financial reporting, planning and analysis, partners with business unit divisions to help achieve financial targets and objectives through thought leadership, and supports service owners with total cost of ownership by validating methodology and analyzing unit costs. The Sr. Analyst will be responsible for budgeting and forecasting short/long-term plans, preparing and analyzing internal financial reports and communicating results of operations to the technology finance division. Activities include managing risks and opportunities, monitoring the organization's expenses while considering macro-economic factors. The role supports the technology finance division with reporting needs and requirements for technology cloud infrastructure spend with emphasis on Azure and AWS. Provides insightful variance analysis and management reporting at detailed levels; builds driver-based forecast models. Partners with regions, business units, business partners and/or corporate to develop, analyze and validate business cases for cloud migrations, modernization, and other technology initiatives, including total cost of ownership, return on investment, and sensitivity analyses. Performs new opportunity assessments by building and maintaining financial models; translates technical cost drivers into clear financial implications and recommendations. Supports sourcing/procurement with pricing analytics and scenario modeling for cloud commitments; provides data-driven insights to inform negotiations. Applies technology business management/finops practices to allocate cloud costs, improve tag hygiene, and enhance total cost of ownership visibility for products and services. Assists with process improvements to enhance forecast accuracy, close quality, and cost optimization; proactively identifies automation opportunities and executes agreed-upon improvements. Collaborates with FP&A/Controllership on month-end close and with TBM/FinOps teams to improve allocation logic and data quality. Bachelor's degree with a major in business, finance, or management information system is preferred. Experienced individual contributor in FP&A/Technology Finance with cloud cost fluency (Azure and/or AWS); adept at translating technical drivers into business insights and actions. Track record of effective business partnering across engineering/cloud platform, sourcing/procurement, product finance and accounting; builds trust and aligns stakeholders on financial outcomes. Hands-on experience completing management reporting (monthly results, quarterly forecasting, annual budgets) with strong variance analysis and narrative skills. Works closely with sourcing, controllership, tax and other supporting functions to ensure P&L and cash impacts of cloud decisions are understood and reflected to minimize financial risk and forecast surprises. Applies advanced analytical techniques to highlight risks and opportunities and recommend practical actions. Demonstrated continuous improvement mindsetstreamlines processes, enhances data hygiene, and implements scalable reporting. Proven ability to manage competing priorities and resolve issues by engaging the right stakeholders, escalating appropriately, and driving to closure. Embraces change and operates effectively in a matrix environment; contributes positively to adoption of new tools and ways of working. Experience with technology finance and TBM/FinOps tools such as Apptio/Cloudability, Azure Cost Management, and AWS Cost Explorer/CUR; FinOps Certified Practitioner is a plus.
