Radiology Tech Location: Hackensack, NJ Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,574 per week Shift Information: Nights - 4 days x 10 hours Contract Duration: 12 Weeks Start Date: 5/11/2026 About the Position Job Title: Radiologic Technologist I Profession: Radiology Tech Specialty: - Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 10:00 PM - 8:00 AM Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in an acute care facility required. License: Must possess a state license. Certifications: Must be able to meet the requirements for the National Registry and pass such examination. Must-Have: - Must be able to work independently in emergency room and with trauma patients. - Must have operating room experience. - Experience in performing portable x-ray examinations and working with pediatric patients. Description: The Radiologic Technologist I is responsible for obtaining diagnostic radiographic examinations. The role does not require constant supervision. The technologist is responsible for producing diagnostic radiographic examinations by positioning patients and providing immobilization devices. They must select proper technical factors based on individual patient needs. Equipment must be selected and operated as required for specific procedures. The technologist restricts radiation beam through cone and collimating devices to avoid exposing unaffected parts of the patient. Portable x-ray examinations are performed in various locations, including patient rooms, operating rooms, and emergency rooms. Operational procedures must be followed to identify patients’ films correctly with names and x-ray numbers. The technologist must mark the film as to the side of the patient taken. X-ray films must be developed using available processing methods. Patient requisitions must be completed with technologist initials, date, number, and size of film. The technologist will maintain a neat and orderly x-ray room as directed. Preparing radiopaque contrast media and assisting physicians in administering these mixtures to patients is required. Administrative duties include scheduling appointments, providing patient instructions, film filing, and maintaining records. The technologist should offer assistance to all patients, taking into account each individual’s needs and abilities. Physical demands include lifting a minimum of 5 lbs., pushing and pulling a minimum of 10 lbs., and standing for a minimum of 6 hours a day. The technologist is responsible for identifying the needs of the patient population served. Care is to be modified and delivered specific to those needs, including age and language considerations. Effective communication with patients, parents, and primary caregivers is essential. Adherence to organizational competencies is required.
