With manufacturing facilities across the globe, including our brand-new facility in Salt Lake City, our customers get the support they need, when they need it.Role DescriptionPROK is looking for an entry-level Mechanical Engineer to support our Engineering and Manufacturing teams in the design, documentation, and continuous improvement of conveyor rollers, idlers, pulleys, and associated fabricated steel structures/frames.This full-time, entry-level, on-site role, based in Salt Lake City, UT, is ideal for a recent college graduate with a Mechanical Engineering degree who is eager to apply engineering fundamentals in a hands-on manufacturing environment. The role will involve supporting product design, creating and reviewing engineering documentation, assisting with 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings, helping maintain bills of material, and working closely with production to ensure components are practical, manufacturable, and aligned with customer requirements.Just as important as technical ability, candidates should communicate well, take pride in quality work, and enjoy being part of a hands-on manufacturing team. If you are motivated, coachable, and eager to grow as an engineer, we are willing to train the right candidate.Job BenefitsJoin a brand-new U.S. facility with a global brand - your work will help establish engineering and manufacturing standards from day one.Work on real industrial products that go directly into fabrication, assembly, and production.Build practical engineering experience in manufacturing, mining, and bulk materials handling.Gain exposure to product design, manufacturing drawings, BOMs, fabrication processes, and production support.Develop under experienced engineering and manufacturing professionals in a hands-on environment.A clear growth path into product design, project engineering, process improvement, manufacturing support, and greater project ownership.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the design and documentation of conveyor rollers, idlers, pulleys, and related fabricated steel structures/frames.Create, review, and revise 3D parametric models and 2D manufacturing drawings under the guidance of senior engineering team members.Convert engineering direction, redlines, customer specifications, and manufacturing feedback into accurate, buildable engineering deliverables.Assist with engineering calculations, component selection, design checks, and basic product validation as needed.Generate and maintain bills of material and drawing outputs that align with manufacturing and production requirements.Review customer specifications and work with Engineering and Sales to clarify scope, technical requirements, and deliverables.Support layout assemblies, concept development, and basic design detailing for new and existing products.Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Sales, Quality, and the Workshop to resolve technical or documentation issues that impact production.Assist with revision control, change communication, and proper engineering documentation practices.Participate in continuous improvement efforts related to product design, drawing standards, templates, documentation workflows, and manufacturing efficiency.Develop familiarity with PROK products, manufacturing processes, and industry standards through hands-on project involvement and training.Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering field.Recent college graduates and candidates with limited professional experience are encouraged to apply.Basic understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, manufacturing processes, tolerances, and engineering documentation.Experience with 3D CAD modeling and 2D drawings through coursework, internships, senior design projects, or entry-level work experience.Ability to read, interpret, and help produce manufacturing drawings, assemblies, and bills of material.Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn proper dimensioning, revision control, and documentation practices.Ability to apply engineering fundamentals to practical manufacturing and product design problems.Organized file management habits and a disciplined approach to engineering documentation.Ability to take direction, ask thoughtful questions, apply feedback, and improve through coaching.Reliable, communicative, and team-oriented, with a strong work ethic and a willingness to support shop-floor manufacturing needs.Internship, co-op, project, or academic exposure to manufacturing, fabrication, mining, bulk materials handling, or industrial equipment is helpful but not required.
