Behavioral Health Sales Intern

*This is an Unpaid InternshipThe Purpose of Your RoleThe primary purpose of this role is to initiate first-time outreach to mental health and medical providers-including therapists, psychologists, psychiatrists, and physician offices-to establish new professional relationships and schedule introductory meetings for the Clinical Outreach Specialist. This position plays a critical role in educating community providers about evidence-based treatment for OCD and anxiety disorders, conducting initial needs discovery, and determining whether our services are an appropriate clinical fit for their patients or clients.Success Indicators/KPIs35 in-person meetings scheduled for the Clinical Outreach Specialist per week5 virtual meetings scheduled for the Clinical Outreach Specialist per week150 outreach activities, including calls, texts, and emails per weekNeeds analysis and account vetting conducted for 90% of scheduled meetingsUpon achieving these key performance indicators, your supervisor will meet with you to review progress and collaborate on establishing new performance goals that reflect continued growth and excellence.Core CompetenciesProfessional Communication & Rapport Building Ability to engage clinicians and medical professionals in a respectful, knowledgeable, and credible mannerNeeds Discovery & Clinical Fit Assessment Skill in asking thoughtful questions to identify provider needs, patient populations served, and appropriateness of referral alignmentOrganization & Follow-Through Consistently tracks outreach efforts, manages follow-ups, and ensures accurate scheduling and documentationCore ResponsibilitiesConduct outbound cold outreach to therapists, psychologists, psychiatrists, and medical providers with whom no prior relationship existsEducate providers on OCD and anxiety disorders, common misdiagnoses, and the specialized services offered by the organizationPerform initial needs analysis and discovery to determine whether the provider and their patient population are an appropriate clinical fitQualify and vet accounts prior to scheduling introductory meetingsSchedule in-person and virtual meetings for the Clinical Outreach Specialist and ensure all relevant background information is documentedMaintain accurate records of outreach activity, provider notes, and scheduled meetings in the designated systemsAdheres to all company policies and proceduresOther duties as assignedThe Skills and Expertise You HaveStrong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to speak confidently with licensed clinicians and medical professionalsAbility to conduct structured discovery conversations and ask insightful follow-up questionProfessional persistence and comfort with high-volume outbound calling and follow-upSupervisory requirementsProficient knowledge of computers, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and other computer softwareAccurate and efficient electronic data entryMust be punctual and maintain excellent attendanceOrganized, detail-oriented, takes the initiative, and completes job responsibilities independentlyMultitask, problem-solve, interpersonal skills, and strong written and verbal communication skillsThrives in a changing work environment, including inside, outside, and loud noise levelPreferred Qualifications1 year sales experienceExperience in healthcare outreach, medical sales, clinical intake, or appointment settingFamiliarity with mental health treatment settings, referral relationships, or provider-to-provider outreachKnowledge of OCD, anxiety disorders, or behavioral health servicesDisclaimerOCD Anxiety Centers has not designed this job description to contain a comprehensive list of activities, duties, or responsibilities required of the employee.
