Development Division | The Nelson-Atkins Museum of ArtStatus: Full Time/Salaried ExemptStarting Salary Range: $53,766 to $60,533 per year (commensurate with experience and qualifications)The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art is seeking a strategic and creative professional to serve as our Coordinator, Donor Communications & Stewardship. This role is a key driver of how we communicate the impact of philanthropy and deepen relationships with our donor community.This position serves as the institutional lead for donor communications and stewardship strategy—designing and executing an integrated, organization-wide approach that strengthens donor engagement, retention, and long-term philanthropic support.What You’ll DoLead the development and execution of a comprehensive donor communications and stewardship strategy Design and manage the end-to-end donor experience, including communications, recognition, and reporting Oversee production of key donor materials such as impact reports, stewardship publications, and the annual Year in Review Partner with Development leadership, fundraisers, and marketing teams to align messaging with fundraising priorities Leverage donor data and insights to inform strategy and enhance engagement outcomes Conduct donor and prospect research to support cultivation and stewardship efforts Continuously improve stewardship practices based on industry trends and best practices What You BringBachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Nonprofit Management, or related field (or equivalent experience) 4–6 years of experience in donor communications, stewardship, or nonprofit development Demonstrated ability to lead donor-facing communications strategy and initiatives Strong understanding of donor lifecycle, stewardship, and fundraising practices Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills Experience working with CRM systems (Tessitura preferred) Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration skills What Sets You ApartStrategic thinker who can translate philanthropic impact into compelling donor communications Ability to influence and lead across teams without direct authority Data-informed approach to improving donor engagement and retention High level of ownership, initiative, and attention to detail Why the Nelson-Atkins?We are a vibrant, free-admission museum with a world-class collection spanning 5,000 years of global creativity.
