Intern, Hockey Communications
The St. Louis Blues, Enterprise Center, and Stifel Theatre are seeking a Communications Intern for the 2026-27 NHL season. The intern will work closely with the Communications teams supporting the business and hockey operations of the organizations to develop skills with real- world experience. Tasks may include projects focused on writing, research, media monitoring and reporting, internal communications, information management, and event operations. The intern will learn practical application of communications and media relations functions within the dynamic sports industry.This is a part-time, paid position working 25-29 hours per week.Rate of pay is $15/hr.June 22, 2026 - June 30, 2027 (dates flexible based on graduation and/or securing full-time employment)Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesCreate daily news clip summaries and proactively update weekly comms activity summary Update player bios for game noteCoordinate press box setup for all Blues home games and help with press box upkeepDistribute game notes and stats on gameday morningsAssist with creation of team yearbook and other team publications throughout the yearLog historical statistics/data and conduct hockey-related research projects as neededTrack statistics/data on team and individual playersResearch media targets, develop media lists, and conduct media outreach as directedHelp write and distribute credentials to security and mediaRun stats pre-game, intermission, post-gameAssist with any other gameday needs of the Communications staff Create tracking reports for media coverage on the St. Louis Blues, other events, and initiatives as directed Collaborate with Community Relations department to secure earned media coverage for Blues Youth Hockey programs and Blues for Kids events QualificationsCurrent or recently enrolled college-level student, or significant practical experienceDesire to gain experience in professional sports, hospitality, venue management, with an emphasis in Communications, Public Relations, or Sports ManagementExcellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills requiredAbility to work independently and as part of a teamStrong ethical standards and sense of confidentialityAvailability to work daytime, evening, and weekend hours as neededAbility to work 25-29 hours per week including office hours and eventsMust be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays, as this position will require regular game night responsibilitiesProficiency with Microsoft suite of software requiredFamiliarity with media monitoring tools preferredWe are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, age, disability, gender identity, marital or veteran status, or any other protected class.
