Job Summary:We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Mohs Tech to join our dermatology team, specializing in the preparation and processing of Mohs tissue specimens. This position plays a critical role in supporting our Mohs surgery procedures by ensuring high-quality tissue preparation for accurate patient diagnoses. Training will be provided for specific processes and tasks.Responsibilities:Tissue Preparation:Cut frozen sections and prepare tissue for Mohs surgery evaluationStain slides with Hematoxylin and Eosin (H&E) and coverslip for optimal visualizationMaintain and operate laboratory and surgical equipment, including the cryostat, to ensure accurate and timely specimen processingLaboratory Maintenance and Compliance:Maintain lab standards for CLIA and OSHA inspections, ensuring compliance with all safety and regulatory requirementsOrder and manage lab supplies to maintain consistent workflow and avoid interruptionsSterilize surgical instruments and manage surgical supply inventory to support an efficient surgical environmentSend out biopsies to reference labs as required and follow all tracking protocolsDocumentation and Reporting:Complete weekly audits of daily logs, reporting findings to the Clinical Manager to ensure adherence to quality standardsTeam Collaboration and Patient Service:Function as a supportive team member by assisting, supporting, and encouraging other employeesParticipate in special projects and initiatives as directed by the Clinical Manager to improve lab efficiency and patient careQuality Improvement:Follow established workflows to maintain high levels of efficiency and timeliness for patient careRecommend process improvements to enhance quality outcomes and operational efficiencyOther Duties: Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned to support the smooth operation of the Mohs surgery and dermatology labQualifications:Education: Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalentExperience:Two years of experience, ideally in a Mohs Surgery laboratory or similar clinical settingKnowledge of dermal anatomy, lab design, and operational proceduresCompetency with computer and office technologySkills:Strong attention to detail, excellent oral communication, and effective problem-solving abilitiesAbility to work both independently and as a supportive team member in a fast-paced environmentDemonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectivelyExhibits the highest level of professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical standardsPowered by JazzHRF9j3ZbYYFc
