LHS - JV Football Coach

JOB POSTINGSUMMARY DESCRIPTION:Under general supervision of the Principal, the coach/advisor is responsible for advising students of Humboldt County School District in a specified athletic or non-athletic Extra Duty Activity, requiring a high standard of sound and acceptable coaching/advising practices. The advisor adheres to a highly efficient and technically sound program of injury prevention and safety precautions and performs related work as required.EXEMPLARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:The coach/advisor is responsible for a variety of tasks related to leadership, student welfare, finance, and administration:Leadership and Student WelfareDevelops rapport with students and provides sound leadership.Is responsible for being an example of good sportsmanship.Applies discipline in a fair and positive manner and according to prescribed procedures.Is responsible for the general health and welfare of students and for the actions and conduct of students.Work with student body to improve student outcomes. Communication and Public RelationsMaintains cooperation with Principal and other Extra Duty personnel.Maintains good communications with the Principal by keeping them informed regarding the overall program, including trips, games, etc..Develops good public relations in the school and community. Administrative and Financial ManagementHold scheduled meetings.Create monthly agendas, meeting minutes, and sign-in sheets.Complete fundraising request forms.Follow accounting and purchasing procedures with bookkeeper.Raise funds for class in coordination with administration and other clubs.Supervise community service projects and fundraisers for the school. Facilities and OperationsMaintain and clean concessions areas and equipment.Follow health inspector guidelines. GeneralPerforms other duties as assigned.
