Engineering Manager – Base Software, Test Systems & Global Operations (Infotainment Systems)Seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead development, execution, and global team expansion for a next-generation embedded automotive platform. This role combines technical leadership across base software and test systems with responsibility for building and scaling a BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) engineering team in India.The position requires a strong background in embedded systems, along with proven experience managing distributed teams, driving execution, and ensuring high-quality delivery across complex automotive platforms.Requirements:Lead and manage base software and test automation engineering teams, including solid-line ownership of assigned resourcesSet clear priorities, objectives, and performance expectations aligned with platform roadmapsMentor and develop engineers and technical leaders, partnering with Tech Leads for day-to-day technical directionDrive hiring, onboarding, performance management, and succession planningEstablish and scale a BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) team in India as an extended engineering workbenchAssign and manage tasks across global teams while ensuring delivery meets quality, timing, and integration standardsOversee operational execution including vendor coordination, purchase orders, invoicing, and resource planningOwn delivery of base software components including BSP, MCAL, bootloaders, HALs, and OS/RTOS servicesGuide board bring-up, early silicon validation, and low-level driver integrationAct as escalation point for complex hardware-software interaction issuesLead development of automated test frameworks for bring-up, validation, and manufacturingDefine test strategies, coverage, and best practices across automation and validationDrive improvements in test efficiency, reliability, and cycle time through tooling and process enhancementsCollaborate cross-functionally with hardware, systems, safety, security, validation, and product teamsAlign software and test roadmaps with program milestones and delivery timelinesIdentify risks early and drive mitigation plans across stakeholdersContribute to budget planning, forecasting, and resource optimizationTechnical Skills:Deep experience in embedded base software architectures (BSP, MCAL, bootloaders, HAL, OS/RTOS services)Strong background in ECU and HPC bring-up, silicon validation, and production readinessExperience with automotive EE architectures and development processesKnowledge of ISO 26262 functional safety concepts and implementationExperience building and scaling test systems, automation frameworks, and CI pipelinesProficiency in C/C++ and scripting languagesStrong experience with embedded debugging tools and system-level troubleshootingExperience managing third-party vendors and software integrationsLeadership & Execution:Proven experience leading engineering teams in embedded or automotive environmentsStrong people leadership, mentorship, and team development skillsAbility to manage global/distributed teams and influence cross-functional stakeholdersExperience aligning staffing, budgets, and technical execution with business goalsStrong communication, presentation, and organizational leadership skillsAbility to operate effectively in fast-paced, dynamic environmentsAdditional Information:Type: Full-timeLocation: Mountain View, CASalary: $252k - $260k DOETravel: Occasional domestic and international travel required (
