We have an exciting opportunity for a Spaceflight Hardware Systems Engineer to join the team. This candidate must reside or be willing to relocated to Houston, TX for on-site work requirements at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX.ResponsibilitiesBe responsible for the planning, development, review, and maintenance of requirements and verification plansPrepare materials for the system life cycle phasing, including SRR (System Readiness Review), Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR) and Critical Design Review (CDR)Work with team members to identify risks, develop risk statements, and to help them plan risk responsesPerform and review system level architecture trade studies and analyses that will influence the overall system design and performanceUtilize a requirements management software and systems engineering tool such as DOORS, Cradle or JamaCreate and manage requirements for various projects - including flow down from NASA Program to contractor Project through verification closeout as well as interface definition between subsystemsWork in a team environment and report to the team lead to provide status on progress and raise issuesMaintain a professional relationship with the NASA customer and other NASA support contractorsPerform other tasks assignedRequired Experience/SkillsBachelor's degree in EngineeringTwo (2) or more years of experience in relevant field of studyExperience with NASA JSC Flight Hardware Life Cycle, Certification, and Engineering processesExcellent written and verbal communication across multiple disciplinesKnowledge and work experience in a Systems Engineering role in a NASA, DoD, or Aerospace environmentExperience with requirements management, verification and validation definition and execution, design trades, risk analysis, and system analysis of space hardwareAbility to prepare written documents and to verbally present at various meetingsFamiliarity with SharePoint and Microsoft Office productsPreferred Experience/SkillsBasic knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures in the space hardware field, such as mechanical and electrical system design, engineering drawings, material selection, and design software and toolsWorking knowledge of NASA, JSC, and ISS standard practices and requirements including safety, fault tolerance, and unique disciplinesFamiliarity with NASA/JSC documentation databases and share point sites as well as typical systems engineering software productsExperience in technical or team leadership roles
