Purchasing Manager

A globally prominent and highly reputable industrial manufacturing organization is seeking to hire a Purchasing Manager to lead plant-level indirect purchasing and capital procurement activities within a complex manufacturing environment. Reporting into corporate Procurement leadership, this role will be responsible for driving procurement strategy execution at the site level, with a focus on MRO, tooling, services, and capital spend. The Procurement Operations Manager will lead a team of buyers and will partner closely with Operations Leadership, Engineering, Maintenance, and Finance to ensure continuity of supply, cost optimization, and alignment with broader business objectives.Primary Responsibilities:Lead all plant-level indirect procurement and capital sourcing activities, including MRO, tooling, services, and project-based spendDirect, develop, and mentor a team of Procurement professionals, establishing clear priorities, accountability, and performance expectationsExecute procurement strategies aligned with corporate objectives, ensuring consistency, compliance, and value delivery at the site levelPartner cross-functionally with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and Finance to support production continuity, capital projects, and cost improvement initiativesOversee supplier sourcing, negotiation, and contract execution for indirect goods and services, ensuring optimal commercial outcomesMonitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions as needed to address service, quality, or delivery issuesDrive cost savings initiatives across indirect spend categories while maintaining service levels and operational flexibilityEstablish and track key procurement metrics, driving accountability for performance against plant and business unit targetsEnsure procurement processes, systems, and documentation meet internal controls and audit requirementsRequired Qualifications:Bachelor's degree is required.5+ years of experience in Procurement or Supply Chain within a manufacturing environment2+ years of formal leadership experience managing procurement, purchasing, or supply chain teamsStrong experience in indirect procurement, including MRO, services, and/or capital project sourcingDemonstrated ability to lead teams, influence cross-functional stakeholders, and drive alignment with corporate strategyExperience with ERP systems (Oracle or similar) and procurement-related processes and controlsStrong negotiation, supplier management, and problem-solving capabilitiesOur client offers an extremely competitive portfolio of insurance and retirement benefits along with an energetic, performance-based culture and other attractive perks.
