To learn more about the Colas USA Family of Companies, please visit www.colasusa.com.Job SummaryOperates a commercial truck equipped with auxiliary mixer to deliver ready-mix concrete to job sites.Main ResponsibilitiesEmbrace the Company's safety culture, actively support all safety initiatives, and adhere to defined accountabilities implemented by the Safety Steering and Continuous Improvement teamsSupport, promote, and practice the Company core values, vision, and mission; follow code of ethics, workplace conduct, safety, and other established policiesManeuver the truck under loading hopper to receive sand, gravel, cement, and water and starts mixerSlump loads to specifications/requirementsDrive the truck to location for unloading and ensures conditions at job site are safeInteract professionally with internal and external customersAssemble chutes and attaches to truck; operates controls on truck to release concrete down truck chute into wheelbarrow or other conveying container or directly into area to be poured with concretePerform daily a pre and post-trip safety check on equipment and truck to assure a safe vehicle; documents any maintenance that may be requiredClean the truck after delivery to prevent concrete from hardening on mixer and on truckMay operate other equipment such as loaders, skid steers, fork lifts, and dump trucksAssist with the form/pour/strip of precast productsMay spray surfaces of truck with protective/cleaning compound to prevent adhering of concreteAssist work crews as required; assists with maintenance of plant and equipmentMaintain necessary documentation, timecards and other required paperworkEducation/ExperienceClass B CDL with Air Brakes and clean driving historyAt least 1 year of commercial driving experience preferredBasic industrial truck maintenance experience preferred, but not requiredPrior experience working with concrete production, construction, and/or related field preferredAbility to maintain a clean driving record and compliance with applicable FMCSA CDL driver requirementsAbility to work with multiple types of individuals and interact professionally with internal and external customersAbility to read and write, and understand basic documentsPhysical Requirements/Working ConditionsWears and maintains required PPE (personal protective equipment) to ensure safe performance of job responsibilities as required.Regularly required to work from a seated position driving a commercial vehicle for long periods to safely operate and control the vehicle during transport duties.Regularly required to climb in and out of vehicles and/or equipment to access the operator's area and perform essential job tasks.Regularly required to use hands for tasks such as feeling, handling, and manipulating objects, including vehicle components, securing hoses, chains, and couplings; as well as writing and operating a keyboard or mobile device.Regularly required to communicate (talk and hear) to exchange essential information, receive instructions, and ensure safe and effective work coordination.Regularly works in changing environmental conditions (such as outdoor weather, dust, or airborne particles) due to the nature of operational work sites.Regularly exposed to fuel, oil, and other chemicals to complete tasks involving vehicle operation, inspection, and maintenance processes.Regularly lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds to handle materials, tools, and equipment essential job functions with or without assistance.Frequently works in environments that may include loud noise, moving equipment, dust, or varying indoor/outdoor conditions depending on operational needs.Frequently stands, walks, sits, reaches, and stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls to access work areas and complete required tasks.Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and overtime; overnight travel may be required.Compensation and BenefitsCompensation*: $25 - $28/hour DOE *Estimated target starting compensation; actual compensation to be determined based on assessment of an individual's qualifications, education, and experience relevant to the role.
