Business Analyst - Federal Grants (Remote)

Job DescriptionThis position supports the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for the Grants Modernization program (FEMA GMM). The FEMA GMM program represents a multi-year effort for IT Modernization and Transformation that will better enable citizens and first responders to apply for and be awarded Federal disaster and non-disaster grants.This position requires US citizenship, and all employees must be able to pass a Federal Suitability Check for a position of public trust. This is an opportunity for a candidate with critical analytical skills, business acumen, and a technical systems understanding. This role will apply their knowledge of processes to analyze and document business requirements for a technically diverse team. Candidates should be self-motivated to dig into the details and learn. Experience and enthusiasm for a fast-paced, changing environment are a must. Positivity and out-of-the-box thinking to solve difficult problems is critical.REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:In this role, you will leverage your expertise in grants management and compliance to research, communicate, and achieve program goals as part of a team supporting agencies in modernizing their grants management practices. Comprehend & analyze business requirements, guiding & facilitating discussions to obtain themTranslate & document requirements in the form of epics, stories, and acceptance criteria for both business and technical audiencesDefine & document acceptance criteria for user stories in a given-when-then formatSummarize key decision points at the conclusion of the discussionWork with technical visionaries to document implementation steps and other deliverablesAbility to efficiently support multiple simultaneous work streams, including projects and program initiatives, and prioritize, manage, and execute effectively with compressed timelines and ambiguous tasking5 - 8 years of experience with technical and business requirementsExperience in the entire grant lifecycle, including pre-award, post-award, and post-closeout for federally funded programs. Excellent notetaking and feature presentation skills, including the ability to write technical information clearly and concisely for non-technical audiences. Solid verbal communication skills and the ability to summarize and convey key insights from analyses to senior audiences. Organize and manage JAD sessions, defining features.
