The Outside Service Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Outside Services and valet team and ensuring an exceptional arrival, practice facility, and golf experience for members and guests. This leadership role is responsible for supervising outside service staff, maintaining operational standards, coordinating golf operations support, and delivering personalized hospitality consistent with the club's culture and service expectations. The ideal candidate is energetic, organized, service-driven, and passionate about creating outstanding member experiences. Key Responsibilities: • Lead, supervise, train, and schedule the Outside Services team • Ensure exceptional member and guest service throughout all golf operations touchpoints • Oversee daily golf operations including bag handling, cart staging, practice facility operations, and pace of play support • Maintain the presentation, cleanliness, and organization of golf staging areas, cart fleet, practice facilities, and bag storage areas • Coordinate daily operations with the Golf Shop, Caddie Program, Agronomy, and Clubhouse departments • Assist with tournament operations, member events, outings, and special golf functions • Monitor and maintain golf cart fleet condition, charging procedures, and operational readiness • Train team members on club standards, safety procedures, and member service expectations • Address member requests and resolve service issues promptly and professionally • Ensure proper opening and closing procedures are consistently followed • Assist with inventory management and ordering of operational supplies as needed • Uphold club standards of professionalism, appearance, hospitality, and confidentiality Qualifications • Previous experience in golf operations, outside services, hospitality, or private club operations preferred • Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills • Capable of communicating effectively in English with members, guests, coworkers, and supervisors • Strong organizational and time management abilities • Professional appearance and demeanor • Ability to lead a team in a fast-paced hospitality environment • Strong problem-solving skills with a member-first mindset • Flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and tournament days • Experience in a private club, resort, or luxury hospitality environment preferred Physical Requirements: • Prolonged periods of standing and walking throughout the golf operation areas • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions for extended periods • Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of golf bags and equipment up to 50 pounds • Ability to operate golf carts and other golf-related equipment safely • Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, and repetitive movement throughout shifts • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with members, guests, and team members • Ability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as business demands require Mental Demands: • Attention to Detail – Maintaining high standards throughout golf operations and member service interactions • Concentration – Ability to remain focused in a fast-paced hospitality environment • Leadership – Supervising, motivating, and developing team members effectively • Problem Solving – Addressing operational challenges and member concerns promptly and professionally • Time Management – Managing multiple priorities and operational demands simultaneously • Judgment/Decision-Making – Exercising sound judgment when handling member requests, staffing, and operational issues • Communication Skills – Clear and professional communication with members, guests, and staff • Adaptability – Ability to adjust quickly to changing operational needs, weather conditions, and tournament schedules • Multitasking – Coordinating several operational responsibilities without compromising service quality • Stress Tolerance – Remaining composed and service-focused during peak golf operations, tournaments, and high-volume periods Newport Beach is an equal employment and E-Verify employer.
