BioMarin Pharmaceutical Inc. is seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Director/Associate Director of Clinical Immunogenicity to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will report directly to the Head of Clinical Immunology and play a senior leadership role within our organization. Key Responsibilities: Clinical Immunology Leadership: You will serve as a Clinical Immunology leader on multiple project teams, working with various drug modalities, including biologics and gene therapies, across diverse therapeutic indications. Early Development Team Leadership: As a leader of cross-functional early development teams, you will drive the nonclinical and clinical development of pipeline molecules, contributing to strategic and scientific planning and execution. Immunogenicity Expertise: You will be accountable for immunogenicity assessment, monitoring, and mitigation strategy for candidate molecules, with a strong focus on the complement pathway. Expertise in complement-mediated downstream clinical effects is highly desirable, as is experience with gene and anti-sense oligonucleotide therapy. Regulatory Engagement: You will author immunogenicity sections of regulatory submissions, interact with external collaborators, key opinion leaders, and regulators, and participate in due diligence teams upon management request. Scientific Communication: You will author immunogenicity-focused publications, present findings at conferences and public forums, and effectively communicate complex scientific data to internal and external stakeholders. Cross-Functional Collaboration: You will work collaboratively within a dynamic cross-functional team environment, influencing overall regulatory approval and product life cycle management through subject matter expertise and scientific leadership. Experience and Qualifications: Required: PhD or equivalent relevant experience plus 8-10+ years of industry experience, with a proven track record of cross-functional team leadership. Strong Communication: Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential for this role. Preferred Expertise: Experience with immunogenicity of biologics and gene therapies, familiarity with the complement pathway, strong analytical skills, and proficiency in data analysis and interpretation are highly desired. Presentation Skills: Demonstrated ability to deliver impactful presentations at conferences and public forums. Collaborative Nature: Highly collaborative with effective influencing and partnering skills within a complex, multi-disciplinary organization. Motivated and Independent: Highly motivated and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment. Education: Director Level: PhD or equivalent relevant experience plus 10+ years of industry experience. Associate Director Level: PhD or equivalent relevant experience plus 8+ years of industry experience.
