Saalex is seeking a Drafter/CAD Operator I in Ridgecrest, CA. Founded in 1999 by Travis Mack, Saalex is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned and Operated business with prime and subcontract expertise serving the Navy, Army, Air Force, NASA, corporate clients, and local governments.Position Type: Full-TimeSalary: $24.32/hrWork Location: Onsite.Essential Functions:Under close supervision, a Drafter I provides detailed drawings of simple routine printed circuit boards, schematics,and logic diagrams using various software and/or manual processes. Employee will be responsible for the following functions/duties:Prepare multiple-view mechanical detail and assembly drawings indicating dimensions and tolerances, fasteners, and joining requirements from layouts, sketches, and/or verbal instructions from senior drafting personnelRedraw existing drawings and assign drawing numbers/cross-index as specified or directedEnsure all work conforms to DoD MIL-STD-100 and company drafting standardsOutput drawings in various formats from electronic files of various typesResearch files and catalogs for information required to complete the projectCreate/edit charts, images, and presentation materialsMaintain files and backup disksPerform other job-related duties, as requiredRequirementsRequired:A minimum of one year of experience, preferably in the high technology industry with an emphasis on electromechanical drawing is required for this position.Competence in the use of a minimum of one computer-aided design (CAD) software program as appropriate to specific assignmentsEffective verbal and written communication skillsPlanning/organizational skillsAbility to work under deadlinesAbility to lift 20 lbsDesired:Enrollment in or a graduate certificate from a two-to four-year technical institute or equivalent training is preferred.Education:High School Diploma or GED required. Any related college or technical training is value-added.Security Clearance:Must be eligible to obtain a Secret clearance.
