Our staff benefit from structured mentorship, weekly professional development, and a collaborative school culture.POSITION SUMMARYThe Middle School Teacher provides rigorous, subject-specific instruction for grades 6-8, fostering academic excellence and personal growth during a critical developmental stage.QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree requiredValid Michigan teaching certificate with appropriate subject-area endorsement (grades 6-8), or eligibility for certification through the Michigan State Board of EducationCandidates who do not yet hold a Michigan teaching certificate may qualify through enrollment in GEE's Career Advancement Program (CAP), which provides a supported pathway to Michigan certification. CAP eligibility is determined at the time of application.Satisfactory criminal background checkCORE RESPONSIBILITIESPlan and deliver aligned, differentiated instruction in the assigned subject areaUse data and formative assessments to drive daily instructional decisionsImplement tiered instructional supports to meet diverse learner needsCultivate a disciplined, respectful, and academically focused classroom environmentCoordinate planning within subject-area and grade-level teamsCommunicate student progress to families, counselors, and administratorsParticipate in professional development, collaborative planning, and staff meetingsPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSMust be able to perform the physical demands of the role, including lifting, bending, stooping, squatting, and standing for extended periods.
