As a Physician’s Assistant, you will be responsible for providing direct patient care, conducting physical examinations, interpreting medical history, diagnosing and treating illnesses, ordering and interpretating diagnostic tests, and developing treatment plans. You will access to collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive and patient-centered care.Roles And ResponsibilitiesAssesses patient health by interviewing patients and performing physical examinations (including obtaining, updating and studying medical historiesDocument patient care services by charting in patient and department recordsProvides quality outpatient services by appointmentProvides ongoing health maintenance, health education and disease prevention periodic screening for adultsProvides well-women gynecological exams including appropriate screening, history, examinations and educationProvides patient education regarding disease processes and good health habitsMaintains current knowledge of immunization schedules, routine adult health maintenance recommendations and general clinic protocolsOrders and evaluates appropriate laboratory and x-ray studiesCompletes Continuing Medical Education and maintains licensure in good standingMaintains current prescriptive authority license, OBNDD and DEA numberMaintains a current knowledge of the Physician’s Assistant formulary and prescribes medications within the limits of the formularyAssists in community health screening and disease prevention activitiesInforms Medical Director of difficult cases, poor outcomes, or of involvement of other agencies in patient caseInteracts effectively with patients, families, clinic team members and anyone necessary to satisfy patient careQualificationsCurrent valid license as a Physician’s Assistant (PA) in the state of OklahomaGraduate of an accredited Physician’s Assistant programExcellent clinical and diagnostic skillsStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work effectively in a team environmentDedication to providing high-quality patient careProficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systemsCommitment to continuous learning and professional developmentPreferred SkillsCommunication Skills: To communicate with patients and colleagues, need excellent listening, speaking and interpersonal skills.
