Banquet/Special Event/Wedding Manager
Job Description
Interim/Seasonal/Per Diem Management of banquet staff including, training, coaching/mentoring, and supervising.
Attend weekly meeting to review event details with Sales and Culinary team.
Attend wedding final appointments to meet brides/grooms/family and review their wedding/ceremony day details.
Oversee, coordinate, supervise and direct banquet event operations and execute all details of each Banquet Event Order (BEO), ensuring proper sequence/timings of service, while driving guest satisfaction, from set up to break down.
Review all BEO detail with kitchen and bakery production teams ensuring all/any special requests and needs are accommodated accordingly.
Ensures a high standard of appearance, hospitality and service in team members, and inspects/maintains all service areas, back storage area, pre-function and post-function, and inspects that all china, glassware, silverware, misc. equipment and linens are put away accordingly after each event.
Effectively communicates with all departments to determine recent/updated food counts, banquet timing, and set-up arrangements.
Implementing effective control of food, beverage, and labor costs with all servers and bartenders for the Banquet Department.
Job Requirements:
Three years of previous banquet supervising experience, including executing weddings required.
Extensive food and beverage knowledge, with ability to remember and recall ingredients and dishes to inform customers and wait staff.
Ability to effectively listen and administer instructions, make decisions quickly and delegate responsibilities accordingly and remain calm and manage multiple task in a very-high paced and stressful environment.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Maintains a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance
Able to walk and stand for a minimum of ten hours.
Able to lift and carry up to thirty pounds.
Maintains and encourages open communication between all team members and other departments.
This position will require a fully flexible schedule to include mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
